Henna

Sarah Walters (she/her) is a ICNHA-certified Natural Henna Artist. What first began as a creative outlet from her tech job quickly became her life’s passion. Henna was a way to create beauty, express herself artistically, and connect with others. She found the process of creating beautiful, intricate patterns using the aromatic plant-based paste was incredibly therapeutic. It was meditative and healing. That feeling she first experienced in 2008 has never left, and her clients often tell her they experience the same thing during their sessions.

Henna (and its sister plant, jagua) stain the skin with a handmade mixture of organic henna leaves, water, sugar, and essential oil. Stains last 1-2 weeks. The ephemeral nature of henna/jagua makes it a powerful way to honor life transitions, as well as celebrations, self-love and beautification.

Henna allows Sarah to share the healing power of natural body art through connection with others.
